The woman in black death angel
Ominous noises are a fixture on the soundtrack. In color, this is hit or miss. The two biggest jolts are in the commercial, though judging by the audience reaction at my screening, not many people have seen those TV ads. This is an odd sequel in that its titular character has been reduced to a supporting role.SEE VIDEO BY TOPIC: The Woman in Black: Angel of Death Official Trailer #1 (2015) - Jeremy Irvine HD

The sequel is about as far from the original source as you can get while still using the title, The Woman in Black. It is just as far away from being interesting. Bruce Kirkland. Director Tom Harper conveys this theme through dark, moldy-looking mise-en-scene and the uniformly sullen performances he elicits from the cast; you're more likely to find this depressing than scary.
Ben Sachs. Redundancy is about all it offers, despite an entirely new set of characters and a story set 40 years after the early 20th-century original. Jesse Hassenger. Director Tom Harper makes inventive use of the settings. Geoffrey Macnab. Odie Henderson. The Woman may be back for another fright, but Angel of Death doesn't haunt like it should.
Kyle Anderson. The Woman In Black 2: Angel Of Death is a profoundly frightening, relentlessly spooky film that wears how old-fashioned and traditional it is as a badge of honour.
Joey Keogh. You might be startled once or twice while watching Angel of Death, but the thrills are cheap tricks. Nicholas Bell. Though well acted and shot, and set in an interesting period, the story itself seems slight and predictable - or even unbelievable. Alexa Dalby. The lazy, ineptness of the screenplay doesn't help matters, and writer Jon Croker seems keener on ticking every box in a notional 'How To Make A Horror Film' manual than creating enduring characters or a truly riveting storyline.
Scott Davis. There is nothing daringly compelling or overtly curious about the titular character nor the Eel Marsh House that the Women In Black roams around in with so-called ghastly intimidation. Frank Ochieng. Overall we found this film a worthwhile sequel to the previous film. Although the over use of 'fake' scares seemed distracting at times and became repetitive; taking away from the gripping storyline.

Its strong points are the sense atmosphere and the appropriately misty backdrop, though it lacks the star quality that Daniel Radcliffe brought to the original, with the characters thinly drawn as the film favours mood over well-rounded personalities. The first film was set in the late 19 th century, with Radcliffe playing a young lawyer who has a series of horrifying experiences at haunted Eel Marsh House, while the sequel shifts forward some 40 years to the early years of World War II. During the Blitz of , schoolteacher Eve Parkins Phoebe Fox is sent with a class of evacuees to the now derelict Eel Marsh House, out in East Anglia where it is isolated from the nearby village by a causeway across the Marshland.

The screenplay was written by Jon Croker from a story by Susan Hill. Thirty years after the events of the first film, during the London Blitz , Eve Parkins joins some of her schoolchildren and the school's headmistress, Jean Hogg, to evacuate them to the isolated market town of Crythin Gifford. Upon arrival at the apparently nearly deserted town, Eve is confronted by a raving madman, Jacob, and flees. Although Eve and Jean do not approve of Eel Marsh House, the isolated manor house on an island in the marshes where they have been billeted, there is no alternative. That night, Eve has a nightmare of how she was forced to give up her baby when she was younger; when she awakens, she hears the noise of a rocking chair coming from the cellar. There she finds a message, scolding her for letting her child go, and sees a woman dressed in black.

That said, the new installment is, at best, a serviceable creep show, one with far more chills than thrills. The women bring these traumatized kids to the supposed safety of the now-abandoned Eel Marsh House in the remote, fog-shrouded British countryside. But the home is a creaky, crumbling affair with tricky door locks and bad lighting. With the help of Harry Jeremy Irvine , a handsome Royal Air Force pilot conveniently stationed in the area, Eve will attempt to protect her charges from the evil lurking about the spooky dwelling, all while unraveling the mystery of the angry, suicide-provoking phantom.
