Your kids will love this gingerbread man art activity! My kids loved this invitation to create a gingerbread boy or girl! So many preschoolers love using glue. They just really enjoy squeezing glue out of the bottle. So collages are perfect for them. Anytime I give my kids a bunch of supplies and some glue, they are so excited! I love that they get all kinds of fine motor practice and the chance to experiment with process art. Although I gave my kids a specific set of items to use, they were free to create with them in any way they wanted.
They just used their prior knowledge to make one of their very own. As result, we had some gingerbread men that looked like you would typically expect, but we also had princess gingerbread girls and gingerbread aliens and more.
I loved seeing their creativity come out. They were super excited to make their gingerbread girls and boys! Despite making several each, my three-year old asked to make more that evening. She spent much of the night gluing pieces to gingerbread cut outs.
The best part is that you can continue restocking the tray and adding more gingerbread men for as long as the kids would like to come back to this. This Christmas printables bundle is jam-packed with fun Christmas-themed learning activities and games for kids ages With over pages of printable activities, this printable pack is sure to keep the kids busy this holiday season!

Stack sheets of brown paper underneath the one with the gingerbread man on it and cut them all at one time. Repeat for as many gingerbread men as you would like. Place all of the other supplies on a tray.

This project takes only a few minutes and uses materials you can probably find for free! This gingerbread man pattern is actually my own design, sketched and brought to life as a custom copper cookie cutter when I was making clay Christmas ornaments a few years ago. I needed a unique gingerbread man that was thicker in some spots and more slender in others, to stand up to my construction and firing process with clay. When I started this project I knew the same shape that made my clay gingerbread men tough enough to be handled before firing would work perfectly to make strong and unique gingerbread man paper Christmas garland. Fiskars Razor Edge scissors are my mama scissors- they go from my fabric cutting table to paper projects like this without complaining or dulling beyond the repair of a basic scissor sharpener. Confession, I have butchered a chicken with my Fiskars Razor scissors , washed them off, and gone back to cutting ribbons for gift bows! Brown Paper — I made mine with used packing paper from shipments of leather dog collars we were receiving regularly in the shop at the time. Paper grocery bags cut down into flat sheets would also work. Used paper is fine- as is printed paper as long as one side is unprinted.

Use brown construction paper to make gingerbread men snowflakes. Your completed snowflake will have 6 cute gingerbread men, and their legs create a star shape in the center. To make these, all you need is brown construction paper, scissors, a pencil, and a white and red colored pencil. We used Prisma colors, which definitely have the darkest color, but any colored pencils will work! Start with a full sheet of construction paper.
